Then we drove back to our hotel.
Bedouins camping on the side of the road.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at the hotel.
A sample room. Our room was on the ground floor opening to a pool with a single bed and shutters in the wall of the bedroom opening into the bathroom.
A dining room. This is where we had breakfast and a dinner.
The salt content of the Dead Sea is so high that people float in the water.
We left for the airport at about 10:30 PM for a redeye home. We flew from Amman though Paris to JFK, where the good people of Air France bookended the trip nicely by losing our luggage again. It was now January 20 and we watched Obama's inauguration on a television in a resturant in JFK before finally catching a flight to BWI at about 5:00 PM.
This was a trip of a lifetime. Everyone from Colonial Williamsburg to Academic Arrangements Abroad to the local guides did an amazing job.
